We offer ASTM A269 TP316L stainless steel tubing in welded and seamless processes, ASTM A269 316L is an austenitic stainless steel grade containing molybdenum content, and the higher nickel and low carbon content offer better overall corrosion-resistant properties than 304, especially about pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments, ASTM A269 TP316L stainless steel tubing is used for general corrosion-resisting and low-or high-temperature service.
ASTM A269 standard specifies the tubing sizes and thicknesses usually furnished to this specification are 1⁄4 in. (6.4 mm) in inside diameter and larger and 0.020 in. (0.51 mm) in nominal wall-thickness and heavier, custom sizes are available upon requirements. ASTM A269 TP316L tubing can be finished in bright annealing (BA) and polished surface condition.

ASTM A269/A249 is dual-certified standards for welded stainless steel tubing, the welded tubes are produced from strips and coils, using the TIG welding method to weld edges of strips together, then a bright annealed finish to achieve a bright surface.
ASTM A213/A269 is dual-certified standards for seamless stainless steel tubing, the seamless tubes are produced from stainless steel billets, via cold rolling and cold drawing to achieve desired sizes, air heat treatment and bright annealing are available.
From TP316L’s chemical composition and mechanical property data sheet, TP316L is an ideal material in high temperature and corrosion environments, with excellent corrosion resistance performance in wide applications.
Dongshang Stainless produces welded tubing and seamless tubing conforming to ASTM A269 / SA269, for example, heat exchanger tube, coil tube, all the tubing should be heat treated as standard specification.
ASTM A269 is a standard specification for seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel tubing for general service, a269 specification covers nominal-wall-thickness, seamless and welded austenitic steel tubing for general corrosion-resisting and low- or high-temperature service.
All tubes shall be furnished in the heat-treated condition. The steel shall conform to the chemical composition requirements. Different mechanical test requirements that includes, including the flaring test, flange test, hardness test, and reverse flattening test are presented. Also, each tube shall be subjected to the non-destructive electric test or the hydrostatic test. Finally, the hardness requirements for different grades of tubes are highlighted.
Material furnished under this specification shall conform to the applicable requirements of the current edition of Specification A1016/A1016M, unless otherwise provided herein.

ASTM A269 materia refers to ASTM A269 seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel tubing, a material widely used in general service applications such as the transport of gas, water, oil, and other fluids.The A269 standard specifies the material, chemical composition, mechanical and physical property requirements for austenitic stainless steel mechanical tubing for use in general service, as well as methods of tube fabrication, test requirements, and marking requirements.
ASTM A269 standard applies to general-purpose seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel tubes, widely used in a variety of equipment and tubing, including bright tubes and coils, etc. ASTM A249 standard is specifically designed for welded austenitic steel boilers, superheaters, Heat exchangers and condensers and other pressure piping stainless steel welded tube.
ASTM A269 applies to stainless steel tubing for general purposes and is written as ASTM A269 – Standard Specification for General Purpose Seamless and Welded Austenitic Stainless Steel Tubing. ASTM A270 applies to stainless steel tubing for sanitary facilities and is written as ASTM A270 – Seamless and welded austenitic and ferritic/austenitic stainless steel tubes for sanitary facilities
ASTM A269 is suitable for general purpose austenitic stainless steel seamless and welded tubes, which are widely used in various industrial fields, such as chemical, petroleum, food processing, water treatment and so on. ASTM A213 is mainly used for high-temperature applications, such as boilers, heat exchangers, high-pressure equipment, etc. It is suitable for applications in high-temperature environments
The working pressure rating of stainless steel tube under ASTM A269 is determined by multiplying its yield strength value by a safety factor of 0.94. Specifically, the working pressure for inch seamless stainless steel tube is based on the yield strength value of the tube in the ASTM A269 standard (20,000 psi or 137,800 KPa) multiplied by 0.94. For metric seamless stainless steel Tube, the working pressure is based on the Tube standard in ASMEB31.3 EN ISO1127 calculations, yield strength of 1370bar (20000psi), tensile strength of 5170bar (75000psi), the same multiplied by 0.94 to get the working pressure.
